MEDICINE AND SALES ADVICE During our hours of service, there is always a pharmacist available to advise on treatments for minor ailments and symptoms, side effects of prescription drugs, healthy lifestyles and complementary medicines. We have a wide range of proprietary products, a very comprehensive stock of homoeopathic and other complementary medicines and are also able to prepare special formulae medications if appropriate. A private room has recently been constructed and is available at all times for discussion of more personal or otherwise sensitive issues.

DISPENSING We undertake dispensing of both NHS and private prescriptions. We carry a wide range of medicines, but if we are temporarily out of stock or do not stock an item it can usually be obtained for you within a few hours. We are also able to arrange for your prescriptions to be collected from the doctor's surgery should you require this service. We maintain detailed patient medication records for the majority of our customers to aid in the monitoring of drug interactions and safety of medicines bought over the counter. Unless specifically requested, all medicines are dispensed in 'child resistant containers' - this does not mean that they are entirely childproof, so please ensure that all medicines are kept out of the reach of children.

EMERGENCY SUPPLIES Under certain circumstances (as governed by the Medicines Act) and at the discretion of the pharmacist, we are able to make an emergency supply of a prescription only medicine. This facility is intended for genuine emergencies only and a charge is levied

UNWANTED MEDICINES Unwanted or excess medicines should be returned to a pharmacy for safe destruction, regardless of the pharmacy in which they were originally dispensed. Please do not hoard medicines as this can lead to accidents and can prove fatal.

OUT OF HOURS DISPENSING If you have a prescription marked 'urgent' and you require it to be dispensed outside normal working hours, contact Giffnock or Govan police stations. They will make arrangements for a pharmacist to be called out (not necessarily from this pharmacy).

COMPLAINTS If you are unhappy with any aspect of our services, please discuss the matter with our manager. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, you should approach the Greater Glasgow Health Board (on matters concerning the NHS) or the Trading Standards Department (on matters concerning other products/services).
